Samantha started with the Archery Training course with St Helens Archers in 2013, at 7 ½ years of age, and was inspired to take up the sport by the Disney movie ‘Brave’. She is a right handed Recurve Archer who regularly shoots at the Club.
Within a year Samantha had started to successfully complete in local and regional competitions and attained her 2nd Class Archer status. A year later she moved up classification to 1st Class Archer and since 2015 Samantha has achieved and maintained her Junior Master Bowman status.
Samantha was invited to train with the Lancashire Junior squad when she was 8 years old and by age 9 was shooting on the Lancashire team, winning her individual Round as well as winning as part of the Junior Ladies Recurve team.
Since 2015 Samantha has attended the National Training Development Programme, run by Archery GB, and this has assisted in developing her archery skills. The programme is part of the Pathway for future Olympians, which is a dream Samantha is keen to pursue.
Archery has taken Samantha all over the country for training and coaching sessions as well as taking part in a variety of Local, Regional and National indoor and outdoor competitions.
